Although the phrase is admittedly overused, "wonderfully unique" is an accurate description of our town. Marshall, which boasts the largest national historic landmark district in the nation for similar sized cities, fosters a sense of community that embraces all people. Its beautiful tree lined streets, its well maintained and inviting historic homes, its hospitable and generous people, all combine to give visitors and residents alike a sense of well being that would be difficult to duplicate.

Add to that a thriving "downtown" which is a showcase of Marshall`s rich heritage, an exceptional school system, first rate health care and a hospital ranked as one of the top 100 in the nation, and excellent fire and police protection, and you get an idea of why the term "quality of life" really means something in our town.
